Standards of Conduct and Discipline 

All employees are responsible for knowing and abiding by emids’ rules and policies. emids prides itself on its ability to meet high standards of ethical and personal conduct throughout its operations. Therefore, you are expected to maintain the highest ethical standards and perform your duties in good faith and to the best of your abilities at all times when engaged in emids business. 

At emids’ discretion, employees may be disciplined or terminated for violating any emid policy or rule. emids may always discipline or terminate employees for engaging in any conduct it deems inappropriate. Employees are expected to use good judgment in all their actions and to consult their supervisors or a Human Resources representative if there is any doubt as to whether their intended conduct falls below emids’ standards. 

Giving and Accepting Gifts 

We may not give or accept gifts, services, entertainment, or favors, from any emid competitor, client, customer, supplier, government entity, or other organization in connection with your relationship with emids in exchange for preferential treatment. However, we may receive gifts that are lawful, customary, of nominal value, conform to the federal and state statutes, and as authorized in advance. For example, you may accept meals and refreshments of nominal value given in connection with business activities. When in doubt, consult a Human Resources representative, and notify a member of management if you receive a gift of more than nominal value. 

Harassment and Workplace Violence 

Each emids employee has the right to work in an environment free of harassment. We will not tolerate harassment by anyone based on the diverse characteristics of those who work with us. It is Company’s’ policy to prohibit intentional and unintentional harassment of any individual by another person on the basis of any protected classification including, but not limited to: sex, age, race, color, national origin, disability, religion, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, or sexual identity. 

At emids, we strive to foster a culture of learning, mutual respect and professionalism and individual accountability for our behaviors and performance. Any form of harassment is strictly prohibited. Degrading or humiliating jokes, slurs, intimidation or other harassing conduct is not acceptable in our workplace. This includes unwelcome sexual advances or requests for sexual favors in conjunction with employment decisions. Moreover, verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that interferes with an individual’s work performance or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment has no place at emids. Conduct that includes behaviors and communication that intimidate individuals and result in a barrier to work performance are not tolerated at emids. 

If you feel that you have been subjected to conduct which violates this policy, you should immediately report the matter to any manager. If you are unable for any reason to contact this person, or if you have not received a satisfactory response within five (5) business days after reporting any incident of what you perceive to be harassment, please contact the Human Resources Department. If the person toward whom the complaint is directed is one of the individuals indicated above, you should contact any higher-level manager in your reporting hierarchy. Every report of perceived harassment will be fully investigated and corrective action will be taken where appropriate. Violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action, up to and including discharge. 

All harassment complaints will be kept confidential to the extent possible, but confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. In addition, the Company will not allow any form of retaliation against individuals who report unwelcome conduct to management or who cooperate in the investigations of such reports in accordance with this policy. Employees who make complaints in bad faith may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including discharge. All employees must cooperate with all investigations.
