emids Recognized by KLAS for Go-Live Excellence

NASHVILLE, Tenn. –Sept. 13, 2018– emids Technologies (Encore) has been recognized by KLAS as one of the best firms for EMR implementation go-live support and is the only high-performing small-scale firm to be rated in this year’s report.

To better understand what is expected of go-live firms, KLAS spoke with healthcare professionals at 69 unique IDNs (over half of the hospital organizations in the U.S. who have used go-live services in the last 18 months) and asked them how they measure go-live success and how well their firm managed personnel, provided knowledgeable resources, and planned and coordinated logistics.

According to KLAS, acquisitions of hospitals by IDNs continue to drive healthcare professionals to seek external go-live support as they work to integrate the technologies and refine the workflows of disparate organizations. While most healthcare organizations are satisfied with the external go-live services they have used, the bar for meeting basic expectations has steadily risen. Thus, only firms that are highly consistent in providing value to their clients are able to separate themselves from the rest of the pack.

Respondents most commonly measure go-live success by end-user adoption, followed by the effectiveness of the firm’s training. These measurements often go hand in hand—end users who receive effective training feel more proficient and comfortable adopting a solution. Nearly half measure go-live success by whether the engagement met their timeline and budgetary constraints. Roughly one-third measure success by the number of support tickets; another one-third measure it by whether they met their organization’s unique goals, such as refining workflows based on specialty or size.

emids (Encore) is the only firm in the KLAS report with a majority of their clients using them for smaller projects. Most clients interviewed said they were satisfied, highlighting emids’ strong leadership team, who is described as highly responsive to concerns. Clients also said emids’ project managers are very engaged, receptive to feedback, and able to adapt to client requests.

One CIO interviewed said emids was, “very responsive. They have good, skilled people who require minimal training. I can call Encore three weeks before a go-live, and they will send the right resources for me. They are very quick to resource a project. I have nothing but good things to say about the caliber of the people they have.”

emids out-performed the market average in several categories including logistics and planning, sales and contracting, service delivery meeting timelines and client retention. emids was also rated in performance, trending, and validated EMR experience, as a small scale firm, based on a one-year trend.
