NASHVILLE, July 20, 2020 – emids, a leader in digital engineering and transformation solutions to the healthcare and life sciences industries, has announced the addition of Clark Golestani to its board of directors. Golestani has nearly three decades of experience in healthcare, life science and technology and is now an active investor and advisor to those industry sectors. As a member of the emids board of directors, he brings a new perspective to grow the company’s digital, life sciences and global business strategy.
“The innovative role that technology plays in healthcare and life sciences makes it particularly exciting for emids as a digital enabler to create value for this segment. I’m looking forward to using my own experience as a former industry executive to guide the emids leadership team on this journey.”
Golestani retired in 2018 from his role as president, emerging businesses and global CIO at Merck. His responsibilities included managing Merck’s portfolio of digital health services and solutions companies inclusive of the firm’s venture and equity funds. He also led the global IT organization, strategy and execution worldwide, spanning all lines of business inclusive of Human Health and Animal Health BioPharma.
Golestani joins the board while currently serving as a senior advisor to New Mountain Capital and as an investment advisor to The CXO Fund. In addition, he serves as chairman of the board for Sparta Systems, Inc.; and as an independent director on the board of directors for CIOX Health, TruU, Inc., UMUC Ventures and Zapata Computing.
The partnership with emids comes at a pivotal time in the relationship between healthcare technology and life sciences. Technology organizations recognize the expansiveness of digital health and are working closely with life sciences enterprises to implement new systems to support their role in the care continuum.
“We are privileged to have Clark on our board. His deep technology and business experience will serve us well in our journey to help industry technology and digital executives as they enable transformation in their businesses,” said emids Founder and CEO Saurabh Sinha. “The other board members and I look forward to working closely with Clark to be a leading digital transformation and services organization to the healthcare and life sciences industries.”
