NASHVILLE, Aug 5, 2008 – A wide variety of businesses, including some that are Web-oriented, have been named winners of the 2008 Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce's Future 50 awards.
The awards, now in their 17th year, are part of a chamber program designed to recognize the 50 fastest-growing privately held companies in the Nashville area. The Tennessean is among sponsors of the event.
Among this year's winners are 25 first-time winners.
One winner, Counsel on Call, made the list for the fifth time, qualifying it for the Future 50 Hall of Fame, which already has 31 members. The awards will be presented during the annual Future 50 banquet on Sept. 18, which honors the companies as well as their CEOs, staffs, vendors and other supporters, the chamber said.
This year's Future 50 winners have a total of roughly 6,270 employees and an estimated combined annual revenue of $701 million.
To qualify, the chamber said, applicants must have at least 10 full-time employees or $500,000 in annual revenues. They also must anticipate an annual revenue and employee growth rate of 10 percent over the next three years.
Bank of America is the presenting sponsor; The Tennessean is media partner; Kraft CPAs PLLC is associate sponsor; and Frost Brown Todd LLC is supporting sponsor of the program this year.
More than 800 companies have been honored since the Future 50 awards began in 1992.
