Software Configuration Manager
emids is looking for Software Configuration Manager. This position holds a wide range of responsibilities including build automation, release management, and deployments. This candidate must be able to define, develop, methods, procedures, and tools to control software products in a fast-paced development environment, as well as support multiple development teams with source code management, build processes, configuration audits, metrics generation, and the delivery/release of the final products to multiple.
Requirements:
- Develop and maintain software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and (COTS) software products
- Design, develop, and maintain automation tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software builds and deployments
- Design and implement build procedures that are used to support software product development
- Train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards
- Perform configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure software product releases are properly documented and comply with applicable standards
- Supports configuration control by developing, interpreting, and implementing configuration management procedures
- Participates in reviews and audits of documentation associated with software changes
- Repair and recover from software deployment failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted user base
Technical skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or applicable certifications, plus 5 years related experience in configuration management and :

Knowledge of SQL server highly desirable

Must be knowledgeable with version control tools and branching strategies

Must have strong scripting and software build experience

Experience with defect tracking software and automated build tools preferred

Knowledge of relational databases and software programming languages preferred

Technical writing experience preferred
