Lead Business Analyst with EMR/EHR experience
Contract (3+ months with probably extension)
New York City, New York
The LEAD Business Analyst (LBA) will serve as the lead to 2 or more BA’s in gathering and analyzing requirements and producing requirements specifications. The primary focus is to analyze business needs and translate business requirements and programming specifications in a form that can easily be understood by development team in utilizing the Agile methodology. As a member of the project team, the Lead BA will be responsible for serving as an active contributor in scope and design sessions by capturing and documenting requirements and action items. The Lead BA will also oversee and contribute to document requirements for both internal and external solutions and collaborate with development leads on completing the technical design.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to the ones listed below):
- Documenting requirements for both internal and external solution scope and design sessions by product phase (to include comprehensive solutions with all potential system impacts identified)
- Working with Development Leads to complete technical design of solutions
- Controlling scope of application functionality through participation in and evaluation of project tasks to ensure each adheres to defined scope
- Facilitate the requirements and design approval process between Product and Engineering
- Documenting Use Cases as defined by product managers
- Providing assistance to the documentation team regarding the creation of user guides, general product information guides and marketing literature
- Documenting and tracking action items during scope and design sessions
- Coordinating with and provide support for Quality Assurance teams regarding solution testing and validation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (computer science or engineering degree preferred)
- 2 – 4 years prior experience as a programmer
- 2 – 4 years experience in requirements gathering, Analysis, and documentation
- 2 – 4 years experience in the interpretation of business rules and requirements for Technical Systems Design
- Understanding of methodologies and programming concepts related to C#, Java, .Net programming, understanding of data base constructs, and Workflow Engines
- Good understanding of EMR and Practice Management systems; prior knowledge of human or veterinarian systems and processes required
- 2 – 4 years experience working with Healthcare applications pertaining to patient record management, electronic records management, patient registration, or patient access
- Customer facing skills
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
- Must demonstrate critical thinking skills
- Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Must demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail
- U.S. Citizen, permanent resident or US government-approved permit to work in the U.S
Communication Skills:
- Must demonstrate collaboration and team work skills
- Must have effective written and verbal business communication skills
- Able to produce and interpret design specifications and technical documentation
- Able to work in a team environment
