Director of (Clinical) Data Analytics
eMids Recruitment is a leading provider of quality professionals in Healthcare IT. We are currently working with a growing, education-based health system in their search for a Director of (Clinical) Data Analytics.
The Data Analytics Director is responsible for all activities undertaken by the Data Analytics group including but not limited to data collaboration, integrity, collection and enterprise reporting. This data management, analytic, and reporting group is charged with developing and supporting a large portfolio of clinical, financial and operational performance measurement initiatives throughout the entire Health System, under the dual direction of the Vice President for Information Systems (CIO) and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). The DA Director is the chief architect and administrator for the EBDWI (Enterprise Based Data Warehouse Initiative) performance management system. This position will manage between 8 to 10 staff members.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ability to effectively manage staff of varying levels of experience
- Must be experienced in working with financial and clinical data, including but not limited to generating cost and charge reports and the ability to interpret and display data for diverse audiences up to and including senior management
- Must be experienced with interpreting a wide variety of statistical analyses
- Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of departments, medical staff, senior management and individuals at all levels within the institution
- Must be skilled in quality management methodology and possess strong analytic skills
- Excellent and proven written, verbal and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with diverse groups at all levels
- Maturity, tact and discretion are essential
- Proficiency with data analytics and statistical software
- Ability to plan and manage projects, staff, other resources and timelines; and to prioritize and delegate accordingly
- Creative, self-motivated, possesses judgment and the ability to plan and initiate new and innovative activities
- Ability to evaluate ongoing and proposed performance measurement initiatives and modify efforts as appropriate
- Strong attention to detail essential for organization and design of projects, instruments, and reports
- Knowledge and experience with a wide variety of hospital data and independent thinking with respect to reporting these data for quality benchmarking
- Strong project management skills; ability to coordinate and plan multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to train staff on all databases, software applications, and hospital data systems needed for development of comprehensive performance management reports
Skill or Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience in healthcare organizations, preferably in related field; data management and information system experience required
- Membership in related professional organizations highly desired
- Strong management skills demonstrated and experience essential; formal project management training desired
- Exceptional judgment and discretion in interacting with physicians and senior management on sensitive political and confidential issues
- Knowledge of current issues in the healthcare environment essential, particularly regarding quality measurement, outcomes studies, healthcare finance, and patient safety
- Knowledge and application of statistical analyses including financial variance analysis and statistical significance preferred
