Clinical Applications Analyst

emids is looking for Clinical Application Analysts to join a major health system in their continued growth.  This position will be responsible for providing support to Project Managers at various facilities in their assigned region in managing the implementation, training, upgrades and post implementation support for clinical applications.  This position will be responsible for meeting with clinical managers, management teams and users to optimize the use of current applications, monitor the level of application usage, and respond to escalated service call needs. An objective of this position is to facilitate the resolution of issues in one hospital being applied to the other hospitals within the system. This position must coordinate with local I/S leaders to apply other I/S technical resources to support problems. This will include prioritization of work efforts, between facilities, applications, vendors, and consultants. It will also be important for this position to develop good working relationships with each local facility, regional, divisional and departmental directors and I/S director. This manager must document application issues and resolutions timeframes by vendor and application to provide feedback to the Director of Clinical Applications on vendor and application performance via weekly status reports. This position will be responsible for coordinating   any customer service recovery steps required when system downtime occurs. A key measurement of the effectiveness of this area is the time required to recover to standard operating levels. Travel to other facilities as requested to share solutions and assist with projects will also be a requirement.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for providing Clinical Information Systems Application support of all user departments

    • Will develop and maintain action item list of I/S application issues for all areas
    • Will ensure that proper research is performed on open items with appropriate technical resource. Open items must have a current status, schedule, and plan for resolution
    • Will schedule and conduct regular status meetings with key department, divisional and regional customer area management teams
    • Will provide vendor / application assessments as to service call productivity, quality of resolution, effectiveness of solutions, training requirements, and integration with other I/S resources
    • Will coordinate projects with and provide support to all technical team members in IS
    • Will conduct regular status meetings with staff and I/S management related to application service levels, and quality. Variances to standards and any customer service failures with recovery period must be recorded and reported to the appropriate customer and I/S management
    • Is sensitive to user needs
    • Maintains procedure manuals as necessary
    • Will ensure that sufficient detail knowledge of application systems is available within each facility to support all applications. This is done through manuals, conferences, experience, or training
    • Will ensure that qualified people are available to train on application systems for the facility
    • Reinforces facility Policies and Procedures
    • Will develop, coordinate, monitor and ensure compliance with the IS corporate and facility budgets for both capital and operating expenses.
  • Internal Consulting
      • Assesses user and hospitals systems needs and communicates these needs to management
      • Serves as an Information Systems resource
      • Works with the IS, divisional and regional management teams to develop a strategic information systems plan to meet the facilities’ needs
      • Enforces security policies and procedures

    • Promotes and encourages positive relations with both internal and external customers
    • Communicates the purpose of Information Systems and its' role in the daily operation of the hospita
    • Answers questions regarding Information Systems
    • Markets systems features to users
    • Is always accessible to users

SKILL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • McKesson Horizon Clinical implementation/support experience preferred
