Business Intelligence Developer
This Business Intelligence Developer position will responsible for design, construction, testing, optimization, deployment, and operational support of ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). This role will participate in the definition of data load strategies in order to optimize the use of enterprise data to effectively meet the organizations business objectives. The Business Intelligence Developer will also evaluate and make recommendations related to ETL and reporting components utilized in the enterprise data warehouse and overall information delivery solution. The ideal candidate for this position will be highly skilled in ETL methodologies and data manipulation requiring complex SQL coding. The ideal candidate must also have expertise in the visualization and presentation of enterprise data to satisfy analytical, decision support, and operational reporting needs of the business community. This position will function as a member of a larger team and will be responsible for translating business and functional requirements into detailed technical designs and the delivery of ETL processes and reporting solutions according to specification, participate with business analysts to gather requirements, produce technical specifications, and construct SSIS ETL processes, SQL Server stored procedures in an MS SQL Server 2005 and 2008 environment.

Job Responsibilities:
- Perform all SDLC phases related to extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server stored procedures within MS SQL Server 2005 and 2008 environments
- Develop optimized SQL Server stored procedures, functions, and database views
- Create and maintain data flow diagrams for existing and future ETL processes
- Create and maintain detailed source-to-target ETL mapping specifications
- Assist in the definition of the database requirements; analyze existing models and reports looking for opportunities to improve their efficiency; and resolve technical problems
- Translate business requirements into BI application designs and solutions
- Performance monitoring, tuning and capacity planning
- Develop ETL audits and controls to ensure quality of data meets or exceeds defined standards and thresholds
- Provide support to developer of cubes and reports using IBM Cognos Framework Manager and Report Studio
- Provide support to developer of complex canned reports using SQL Server 2005/2008 Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Provide support to developer of multidimensional cubes using SQL Server 2005/2008 Analysis Services (SSAS)
Required Skills / Experience:
- 7+ years of comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience with demonstrated knowledge of data warehouse methodologies
- 7+ years of experience documenting detailed ETL mapping specifications including complex transformation and aggregation logic within a multi-dimension database model
- 5+ years of recent experience developing ETL packages with SSIS in a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008 environment including scheduling and automation using SQL Server Agent
- 5+ years of recent experience in writing SQL stored procedures in a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008 environment
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft tuning and performance optimization tools
Good To Have Skills / Experience:
- 5+ years of experience developing ETL and reporting solutions within a dimensional database architecture with proficiency in Type-2 slowly changing dimensions
- 5+ years of experience developing reports using SSRS in a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008 environment
- 3+ years of experience developing cubes, reports, and dashboards using SSAS and MDX SQL in a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 environment
- 3+ years of experience developing cubes and reports in IBM Cognos 8 Framework Manager and Report Studio
- 3+ years of recent healthcare data warehousing experience
- 3+ years of experience with medical claims data
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline is required
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Business Intelligence Developer is a plus
