Nashville, Tenn.—emids, a provider of information technology services to the healthcare industry, is thrilled to announce that Michael (Mike) Hollis, Senior VP of Sales & Marketing, was named a Nashville Business Journal 2016 40 Under 40 award winner.
The recipients of this year’s awards span a wide range of industries and backgrounds, and winners were chosen from public nominations. A panel of judges comprising former winners scored each nominee on a variety of criteria that included business accomplishments, involvement in the community and more.
Along with his excellent work on business development and building client relationships for emids, Michael and his wife, Ellen, have made strides helping to improve the quality of life for children living with mitochondrial disease through their charity, Team Hunt. Michael and Ellen founded Team Hunt in honor of their son, Hunt Michael Hollis, who was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease at 16 months old. Mitochondrial disease is a chronic, genetic disorder that occurs when the mitochondria of the cell fails to produce enough energy for cell or organ function.
Since inception, the charity has raised more than $300,000 to raise awareness about the disease, help find a cure, and raise funds for therapies that improve quality of life for children.
Hollis also is an active member of Nashville’s professional and non-profit community, serving on several advisory boards, and as a committee member of Nashville Health Care Council’s Leadership Health Care and Nashville Technology Council.
