Nashville, Tenn. (February 29, 2016)—emids, a provider of information technology services to the healthcare industry, will host its Second Annual CXO Challenge at HIMSS16 in Las Vegas beginning Monday, Feb. 29.
The CXO Challenge is a two-and-a-half-day step challenge between healthcare executives at HIMSS16. Wearing Jawbone UP2s, participants’ steps will be tracked via the Jawbone app and displayed at a leaderboard in the emids booth 6447.
As an incentive to get moving, the winning executive will receive $10,000 in charitable funds—$5,000 will be donated to a charity of the winner’s choice, and $5,000 will be donated to the HIMSS Foundation, which provides scholarships to health IT students, supports special projects in the HIT field, and more.
“Our inaugural CXO Challenge at last year’s HIMSS Conference highlighted the way wearable technology is impacting the health industry and providing opportunities to promote fitness and guide consumer behavior,” said Michael Hollis, emids SVP of Business Development. “Integrating wearable tech into healthcare can provide flexible patient monitoring, improve patient engagement, lower costs and improve population health over time, and emids is ready to help providers and payers get on board.”
