The rapidly evolving healthcare IT landscape requires new approaches to meet market demands as well as compliance requirements. Agile development in software has been proven to provide superior outcomes in contrast to the traditional development methodologies. The Unified Scrum methodology developed by emids, in conjunction with several healthcare IT companies, offers a new and proven methodology to deliver technology projects using Agile in Global development teams.
The session will detail some of our experiences during the Agile Journey, working over a dozen successful, and some not so successful projects. These experiences and hard-won insights into Agile will light the way for others, who are thinking of adopting it, or working with Agile teams, in distributed delivery models. Several aspects of Scrum and other Agile methodologies need to change to effectively gain the benefits of Agile. Several different distributed models are described and explored including heavy customer site presence to fully distributed teams, each having its own constraints and benefits.
